If you’re a film music fan, you can attend the unique event that will take place on 17 February 2024 in the Arena Gliwice. It is there that the Polish Radio Orchestra and the Academic Choir of the Warsaw University of Technology, conducted by Maciej Sztor, will present a Film Music Concert dedicated to the works of Hans Zimmer – one of the greatest contemporary composers of film music.
Lose yourself in unique sounds
Hans Zimmer is a name that all film lovers are probably familiar with. He has created unforgettable soundtracks for over 150 films, such as ‘Gladiator’, ‘Inception’, ‘Interstellar’, ‘Batman’, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’, ‘The Lion King’ and ‘Diana’. His works combine elements of symphonic music, contemporary instruments and electronics to create a unique style and atmosphere. He has received many prestigious awards for his work, such as an Oscar, a Golden Globe, a Grammy, and lifetime achievement awards.
During the concert at the Arena Gliwice, you will hear original orchestral suites from some of Zimmer’s most famous films and pieces from ‘Sherlock Holmes’, ‘The da Vinci Code’ and ‘Crimson Tide’ will also be performed. And as the icing on the cake – the music from the latest film “Dune”, for which Zimmer received his second Oscar, will be premiered. Film excerpts will enrich the event projected onto a cinema screen and narrated by Magda Miśka-Jackowska. Anna Lasota will sing the solo parts.
It will be an unforgettable experience for all film, music, and cinema fans. Tickets for the concert are available at biletyna.pl and at the Arena Gliwice box offices.

Radio station Gliwice
This is a place of great historical significance, as it was here that the Second World War began. On 31.08.1939, under the guise of a Polish attack on the radio station, German soldiers carried out a provocation that served as a pretext for the invasion of Poland. Today, you can visit a museum dedicated to this event, and admire the 118-metre-high wooden radio tower – the highest in Europe.
Palm House and Chopin Park.
It is an oasis of greenery and exotics in the city centre. The Palm House in Gliwice is one of the largest in Poland, where you can admire more than 2,000 plants from different climate zones, including palms, banana trees, cacti, orchids and many others. In Chopin Park, on the other hand, you will find a pond, a fountain, a children’s playground and a monument to Frederic Chopin.
Rope Park Adrena
This is the ideal place for lovers of adrenaline and active leisure. The rope park offers three routes of varying difficulty levels, where you will find bridges, swings, slides and Tyroleans, among other things. You can also try at the climbing wall or the go-kart track.
It is a historic villa from the late 19th century that belonged to the wealthy industrialist and philanthropist Guido von Caro. Today, it houses the City Museum, where you can see exhibitions on the history, culture and art of Gliwice and the region. Also worth noting is the villa’s beautiful garden and Art Nouveau architecture.
