Hradec Kralove – where to stay?

To see all the attractions in Hradec Kralove we have mentioned, it is worth staying here overnight. We recommend the cheapest facility near Jiraska Gardens. Hotel Stadion Hradec Kralove will be an excellent base and you can reach all attractions on foot. Moreover, the price of PLN 180 for two people per night is adequate to the standard presented by this facility.

Hradec Kralove – what to see?

  1. Market Square – a place where it is worth starting your visit. There are several monuments nearby, such as the White Tower, but we also encourage you to walk along the atmospheric streets, slightly away from the market square.
  2. Elbe River – the beautiful walking areas along the Elbe River are delightful. We will certainly come across a characteristic hydroelectric power plant, beautifully lit in the evening. You can also go on a cruise along the river.
  3. Gallery of Modern Art – the subject of the exhibition is mainly modern art of the 20th century, in terms of the value of the collection it is one of the most recognized in the Czech Republic.
  4. Petrof Museum – the Petrof piano factory, where you can see every stage of production. We can admire historic and modern instruments, as well as try them out and, of course, buy them.
  5. Jiraska Gardens – an ideal area for an autumn walk. In the park you will find rare leafy plants that sparkle with colors at this time of year. There you will also find the historic church of St. Nicholas, who was transported here from eastern Slovakia.

Hradec Kralove – where to eat?

  1. Pivovarské domy – brewery and restaurant in one. It is worth trying the local Klenot brewery and snacking on Czech specialties. It is possible to visit the cellars where the brewery is produced.
  2. Hostiniec U Dvora – a real Czech inn, where the standards may not be the highest, but there is delicious, traditional Czech cuisine. And of course beer – a real Czech dish.
  3. Café Na Kole – excellent coffee, possibility of tasting. Coffee from all over the world, plus delicious fresh cakes. There is a small garden at the back.

A trip to Hradec Kralove inspires you to explore other places in the Czech Republic. This quiet city, located off the main tourist route, delights and proves that there are many beautiful places that we miss because guidebooks do not mention them. Sometimes it’s worth going a little off the beaten track and finding yourself in a magical place like Hradec Kralove. Great architecture, a great walking route along the Elbe and parks and green areas. You can admire all this while taking breaks for a delicious local brew that never disappoints. You can certainly stay here overnight and visit these places, which look even more beautiful in the evening under the illuminations.
