Bus traffic through the Lithuanian–Belarusian border has been restored

The Lithuanian border checkpoints in Medininkai and Šalčininkai have reopened. The border had been partially closed since 30 October, which limited passenger and transport movement. As of yesterday, both crossings are operating normally again, allowing passengers to plan bus journeys in both directions.

Which bus routes benefit from the reopening?

  • Direct connections between Lithuania and Belarus
  • Transit routes between Poland, Lithuania and Belarus

What does this mean for passengers?

  • The ability to freely plan bus travel in both directions
  • Normal operation of public transport and international bus services
  • Standard border control procedures and possible delays should be taken into account
