With many interesting museums to visit, learn and interact with the country’s history, it is certainly worth spending more than one weekend. Multiculturalism can be found here at every step – after all, there were Russians, Danes, Swedes and even Poles here. We will encounter all this in the beautiful old town, which will allow us to literally travel back in time. To ease your mobility and see many attractions at a discounted rate, it is worth purchasing a Tallinn Card.

By choosing the Gotthard Residents facility, without veering off our intended budget and what’s more still  be located very close to the city centre we get excellent deals. Double rooms PLN 110 per night per person as it is a historic building with a great atmosphere. The premises offers a self check in feature that has proven to be hassle-free with excellent value for money. This would be an ideal pick for one  spend 1 or 2 nights and experience the city.

Tallinn – what to see

  1. Toompea – The upper part of the city, with castles, fortified walls and a great panorama, which is worth visiting, especially at night, to admire the magic of Tallinn’s lights.
  2. Kiek in de Kök – a very interesting museum that presents the history of Tallinn and its inhabitants in an entertaining way. Particularly noteworthy is the network of underground tunnels, which also houses exhibitions. It’s worth going with a guide.
  3. Television tower – apart from the wonderful view from the tower, we have several attractions available on the platform. There is a studio at the bottom of the building where we can record a news script for free.
  4. Rocca Al Mare – an open-air museum of the Estonian countryside, 3 km from Tallinn. You can  easily get there by bus from the station. It is a specious area with interesting exhibitions. A great place for a walk too.
  5. Lennusadam Sea Harbor – this is definitely the most interesting museum. It has many interactive simulators, as well as several historic ships and submarines that can also be tried.

Tallinn – where to eat?

  1. Maiasmokk – this is the oldest cafe in the city with a name perfectly associated with sweets – The Gourmand. We will, of course, try marzipan here, for which Tallinn is very famous for.
  2. III Draakon – medieval-style interiors create an unforgettable atmosphere. A great place to try the famous reindeer soup.
  3. Olde Hansa – everything from the waiters’ clothes, to the decor and music, comes from a bygone era. It is worth visiting here for delicious bear or elk sausage.
