Ticket return via the bilety.pl platform
If you need to change your plans, in many situations you can choose a different travel date (depend to seat availability) or simply return the ticket. This option is available after logging in to the individual customer panel in the “My tickets” tab. Just click the Return ticket button and our consultant will consider your request individually during office hours. The refund amount depends on the carrier’s conditions and the time remaining until departure. Therefore, it is very important to read the Conditions of Carriage of individual carriers before purchasing a ticket.
New Flixbus returns policy
We are writing about this mainly because from March 1, 2025, there are significant changes in the return rules of the FlixBus carrier.
So far, even on the day of departure, changing plans has not been a major problem. Refunds for the full ticket price were received in the form of a voucher (a special code) that could be used for the next ticket purchase from this carrier. The return was possible up to 15 minutes before departure.
From next month, the refund amount will depend on the date of ticket cancellation. This is the policy followed by most carriers. Below we present the percentage refund of the ticket cost depending on the time remaining until departure:
Less than 2 days before departure – 20% refund of the ticket price
From 2 to 6 days before departure – 40% refund of the ticket price
From 7 to 29 days before departure – Refund of 70% of the ticket price
30 days or more before departure – 100% refund of the ticket price
Until now, purchasing a FlixBus ticket meant flexibility in travel plans, this time passengers are forced to plan their trips much further in advance or face a significant deduction of the amount of our ticket. The basis for the calculation is the exact departure time (an hour, a minute, or even a second), so if our bus leaves in exactly 48 hours and 15 minutes, we can still count on a 40% refund.
Changes to the system will be introduced on March 1, 2025, and the refund amount will be calculated according to the new rules.
What about service for customers who purchased a ticket before March 1, under earlier terms?
If your reservation was made before February 4, 2025, and the planned departure date is after March 1, 2025, and you want to cancel your trip under the current conditions, you will need to contact FlixBus Customer Service.
Refunds on departure
As we mentioned earlier, changing the ticket refund policy for FlixBus is nothing new. It is worth remembering that most carriers do not allow refunds on the day of departure or the refund is only 10% of the ticket price. For comparison, we present the return policies of other popular carriers.
Sindbad carrier ticket refund
In the case of Sindbad tickets, we are entitled to change the date or route within the Carrier’s current offer 24 hours before departure. In the event of a price change, only the fee resulting from the tariff difference will be charged. It works both ways, i.e. if we choose a cheaper ticket, we are entitled to a refund.
What if a passenger resigns from the trip? Here we also have to take into account deductions depending on the time remaining until departure.
Less than 24 hours before departure – 10% refund of the ticket price
From 14 days to 48 hours before departure – 25% refund of the ticket price
From 48 hours to 24 hours before departure – 50% refund of the ticket price
More than 14 days before departure – 90% refund of the ticket price
Ecolines carrier ticket refund
Cancellation of the trip is possible up to 1.5 hours before the bus departure.
You can then return the entire ticket or just the return section. After this deadline, refunds are no longer possible.

What should a passenger know?
Before purchasing a ticket, it is worth paying attention to the carrier’s refund policy. If our plans may change, it is better to choose a company that offers more flexible cancellation conditions.
