The modern station in Lublin has been operating for almost 10 months. The city, as well as the entire country, boasts a beautiful station, the architecture of which can be admired during trips both domestic and abroad. Since its opening, carriers have been constantly moving to the new facility. More and more routes, cities and villages are included in the timetable – we will reach both Marseille in France and Biłgoraj. This is where various means of transport meet: public transport, bus and rail. In the station hall you will also find our bilety.pl sales point, where you can buy bus tickets in-store.
From the station from the 1960s to modernity
The previous station was located at al. Tysiąclecia, near Podzamcze, which on the one hand was a very good location due to the proximity of the center. On the other hand, the limited development possibilities of this facility were influenced by its distance from the railway station and its inadequacy to the current needs of the city. Unfortunately, the image of the station has already deteriorated somewhat, mainly due to the chaotic development of small trade and the lack of revitalization of the building. Lublin deserves a new station, which will be the city’s showcase and, in further development, perhaps a great place and transfer hub connecting the east and west. The first important factor is also the location – it is located opposite the Lublin Główny Railway Station at 2 Dworcowa Street.
Architecture of the Lublin Bus Station
The Lublin Railway Station is to be an important place on the map of Lublin due to its functionality, but it is also an interesting building in terms of architecture. This is evidenced by the numerous awards received by the architects who created this work, including: World Building of the Year. Architects responded to many of the challenges we face in today’s world by creating a building in the eco spirit. Let’s take into account, for example, a roof garden or green walls. There will be many plants around the station that will be watered using rainwater (of course, the entire system will purify this water). Special lighting that allows for 50% less energy consumption and heating with heat pumps are also eco-friendly solutions. At the station, we have a parking lot for bicycles and electric chargers for cars and buses. The multitude of these solutions means that a trend for a new way of revitalizing railway station areas will be initiated in Lublin. It will certainly be an attractive place also in terms of tourism.
More and more connections at the Lublin bus station
At the beginning, right after the opening, not many carriers decided to move to the new-smelling station. The timetable included 31 routes and 166 courses. However, over time, more and more buses began to depart from this place. Currently, the number of carriers and routes is almost three times greater. The reason is simple – a modern facility from which departures are free. There are 33 positions available, already assigned to specific directions. You can check the current timetable here.
