Two border crossings with Belarus reopened

Bobrowniki and Kuznica Reopened

On November 17, two border crossings in the Podlaskie Voivodeship were reopened:

  • Bobrowniki – Bierestowica
  • Kuznica Bialostocka – Bruzgi

This is an important change for both travelers to Belarus and international transport operators. The decision restores the possibility of crossing the border at new checkpoints and allows transport companies to plan routes more flexibly.

Current border crossing rules

Bobrowniki – Bierestowica

  • crossing open for passenger traffic,
  • bus traffic allowed,
  • freight traffic permitted for vehicles registered in EU, EFTA and Switzerland.

Kuznica Bialostocka – Bruzgi

  • crossing open for passenger traffic,
  • buses are not yet allowed to use this crossing.

Which bus routes benefit from the reopening of Bobrowniki?

The Bobrowniki–Bierestowica crossing is located directly on DK65, leading to Bialystok and nearby towns. This gives many routes from northeastern Poland faster access to the border.

Bialystok → Grodno / Baranovichi / Minsk

Bialystok remains a key transfer hub in the region. The reopening of Bobrowniki allows efficient routing to Grodno and further to Baranovichi and Minsk. This is currently the most important direction benefiting from the border reopening.

Long-distance connections via Bialystok

This also benefits buses coming from major Polish cities such as:

  • Warsaw,
  • Tricity (Gdansk, Gdynia, Sopot),
  • Olsztyn.

This allows carriers to shorten travel times, simplify border procedures, and plan routes more flexibly.

What does this mean for travelers?

  • greater availability of connections from Poland to Belarus,
  • shorter travel time on selected routes,
  • faster updates of carrier schedules,
  • better service for traffic from northeastern Poland.

We recommend checking availability before planning your trip.
